World Green City Awards 2026

The AIPH World Green City Awards return! Entries to the 2026 Awards are now open and cities are invited to make their submissions before 15th September 2025.

Entries close on 15th September 2025, and AIPH encourages cities to start early in preparing their entry. To help guide you through the process, AIPH has prepared a step-by-step registration guide. You can explore the inspiring legacies in case studies of the previously successful editions from WGCA 2022 and WGCA 2024.

The 2026 edition of the AIPH World Green City Awards is offered in seven categories. The two stage judging process selects three finalists in each category from which one category winner is selected, and one Grand Winner is chosen from the seven category winners. Entries are assessed on the basis of six evaluation criteria. For more information, AIPH invites you to visit the dedicated webpage: World Green City Awards 2026

AIPH also invites you to familiarise yourself with the Rules and Procedures and the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs). AIPH is thrilled at the prospect of your city’s participation and is looking forward to seeing your city’s profile created and your inspiring entry/ies develop in due course.

Receive the latest news from AIPH and follow the activities of AIPH Green City by following @AIPH and @AIPHGreenCity on LinkedIn, or by subscribing to the monthly AIPH Global Green City Update.

World Green City Awards celebrate bold and innovative urban greening initiatives, recognising cities that place plants and nature at the heart of urban life. It would be an honour to see your city’s achievements showcased on the global stage.
